Qolo Elevates the Wheelchair

The Qolo helps wheelchair users feel more confident and comfortable by allowing them to stand and move in an upright position. Designed for people who are unable to use their lower limbs, the Qolo helps the individual move between a sitting and standing position by relying on the motion of the upper body. By harnessing the user's own momentum, the Qolo creators were able to eliminate large and expensive electric motors—replacing them completely with passive mechanical parts. Once the user is in the upright position, the Qolo can be propelled in different directions simply by twisting or leaning in the desired direction.
