Rearview Mirror Module Adds Display Functions to Existing Mirrors

Oct-13-14 Bring your old car up to speed with the review telematics unit from Pioneer—a wireless information display that fits over existing rearview mirrors.

The display features an LTE communication unit that links to Pioneer's Mobile Telematics Center to provide information about news, traffic, weather, the local area and navigation. The unit is also equipped with a front-view, wide-angle view camera, so it can record driving incidents, as well as a Safe Driving Support Service able to analyze the cars and road ahead and deliver audio warnings if necessary. Other features include noise-cancelling, gyro and acceleration sensors, the option to connect to a rear-facing camera, and WiFi hotspot capabilities.
