RunScribe Tracks Your Run Step-by-Step

RunScribe Tracks Your Run Step-by-Step
Aug-26-14
The runScribe steps ahead of other runner-specific fitness trackers by tracking the user's gait in order to deliver impressively detailed information on the movement of the feet.

Already doubling its funding goal on Kickstater, the runScribe sensor mounts on the back of the shoe, where its 9-axis sensor captures the foot's movements to create a detailed analysis of the user's stride. This sensing capability enables the runScribe to create a runScore based on 13 kinematic metrics, which the runner can use to compare their previous runs and learn how to improve their runs in the future. The data is sent to a smartphone via Bluetooth, and the information can be stored in the device so runners can leave their phones at home.
