Sammy Screamer Helps Parents Keep an "Ear" on Kids

Sammy Screamer Helps Parents Keep an "Ear" on Kids
Feb-11-14
The Sammy Screamer motion detector was designed to help parents keep an eye on their kids, but could also have more far-reaching applications.

Developed by the parent app-focused company BleepBleeps, the Sammy Screamer is equipped with an accelerometer and will send an alert to a smartphone when it senses movement. The volume of the alert can be adjusted, and the device has a range of up to 164 feet. Examples of uses given by the company include attaching the device to a stroller to receive an alert when the baby wakes or hanging it from a doorknob to be notified if someone enters, or leaves a room.

Because the Sammy Screamer’s magnetic backing and loop allow it to be attached to almost anything, it could also be useful to folks besides parents by keeping an eye on bikes and backpacks or sounding an alert to warn of intruders.
