Samsung Connect Tag Tracks Further

Oct-17-17 The Connect Tag from Samsung is the first small tracker device able to operate outside of Bluetooth range.

While there is an array of personal trackers on the market, most are limited in range by their Bluetooth reliance. To locate more far-flung items, Samsung’s Connect Tag communicates through a narrowband network used by the Internet of Things. In this way, the tracker is able to pull on GPS, Cell ID and WiFi to determine the item’s location, no matter where it may be.

The Connect Tag can also be used with Samsung’s SmartThings ecosystem, triggering doors to open or the lights to come on based on proximity.
