SensiumVitals Patch Allows for Quick Patient Intervention

SensiumVitals Patch Allows for Quick Patient Intervention
Jul-24-14
The SensiumVitals patch joins the growing ranks of medical wearables, and will attach to a patient to easily and unobtrusively monitor vital signs.

The wireless, disposable patch, created by Sensium Healthcare, weighs only half an ounce, yet is equipped with sensors able to monitor temperature, respiration and heart rate. It will take a reading every two minutes and then transmit the data to the assigned location, such as a nursing station and heldheld devices, allowing for a quick intervention if the patient's condition suddenly deteriorates. In tests, nurses in particular have enjoyed the ability to have easy access to frequent patient updates.

According to the developers, early intervention during medical treatments tends to lead to shorter hospital stays and lower hospital bills.

I am currently developing a wearable thermograph. I am incorporating these sensors into the yarn of the fabric. Could you please tell me if the sensors used in this are small enough to be incorporated into the yarn of the fabric
