In an effort to turn individuals from sun-worshipping to the shade, the Shadow Wi-Fi will only deliver Wi-Fi to users who are sitting in its shadow.
Developed by Happiness Burssells and installed on a beach in Peru in cooperation with the Peruvian League Against Cancer, the tall, blue rectangle is equipped with a directional Wi-Fi antenna and sun-tracking sensor. As the position of the shadow shifts, the Wi-Fi antenna will respond accordingly, only allowing users in the shade to have access to the Internet.
The Shadow Wi-Fi is planned to be installed in New Zealand and San Francisco over the next few months.
