Shield Extinguisher Protects Amateur Fire-Fighters

Shield Extinguisher Protects Amateur Fire-Fighters
Apr-13-14
The Shield Extinguisher adds a bit of extra protection to hand-held fire extinguishers—bridging the gap between fighting the fire and shielding the user from the flames.

Designed by June Young Kim & Ji Min Lee, the Shield Extinguisher concept consists of a fire extinguisher/fire shield combination. The extinguisher handle and controls are on the back of the shield, and a nozzle on the shield's fire-facing size sprays the fire-extinguishing material onto the fire. This arrangement allows the user to hold the shield in front of them as they fight the fire. The shield can also be used to break open doors or smash windows, if required.
