The SkinMarks e-tattoos will turn the user’s skin into a touchscreen for their phones.
Developed by a team from Saarland University, the tattoos are elastic enough to attach to areas like the knuckle as well as the finger, without damage. Tiny, flexible wires and electrodes in the tattoo material detect taps or swipes, sending the information to a paired device as a command control.
As an added feature, the tattoos can also be commanded to light up at certain prompts, such as an app notification.
Could this be also a temporary ID tag or ticket for visitors at companies and events? Admittance, door control and services would be classified automatically. Posted by Uolevi Kattun on March 29, 2017
