Skydio Charging Dock Encourages Longer Missions

Oct-18-19 The Skydio Dock allows autonomous Skydio drones to recharge themselves without human intervention, reducing interruptions to missions.

The charging dock concept was created Skydio for use with their autonomous Skydio 2 drone to allow it to fly back-to-back missions. The self-contained dock features a motorized door and arm that extend for the drone land on with its special contact charging pins. The drone can navigate to the dock without GPS, and the dock itself will transmit the drone’s data back to a home station via WiFi or and Ethernet-connect computer.
