The mirror looks and functions like a standard rearview mirror, and can be used in normal mirror mode. However, the device also communicates with a wide angle camera attached to the rear of the car—an option that can be chosen with a flip of a switch. This allows the mirror to show an unobstructed view of the area behind the car, regardless of how much cargo is loaded into the vehicle. The LCD view also remains clear in rain, snow or darkness, and is not affected by the glare of headlights from the traffic behind.
