Smartwatch Prototype Controlled by Tilts and Twists

A new smartwatch concept offers better methods of controlling the small devices by allowing users to tilt, twist and click area around the watch's face.

The project, currently underway at Carnegie Mellon University, addresses the lack of an efficient way to interact with the small-scale devices. According to the designers, the prototype device was built around certain guidelines: it shouldn't feel 'cramped' to use and the users shouldn't be required to remove their fingers from the screen while using it.

A demo video of the device in action includes footage of the user playing Doom, which the developers modified to play on the prototype watch.
