Soft Upper-Body Exo-Suit Reduces Muscle Strain

Soft Upper-Body Exo-Suit Reduces Muscle Strain
Feb-25-15
The prototype Sensorimotor Enhancing Suit (SEnS) claims to enhance the wearer's upper-body strength and coordination passively, without using motors or batteries.

The soft exo-suit is based on the idea of sensorimotor, the relationship between muscles and nerves that reduces the ability of muscles to sense movement when lifting heavy objects. By layering the suit's fabric in an intelligent way, the team created a wearable support able to reduce the strain on upper-body muscles and allow the wearer to sense the load more accurately.
