Solar-Powered Current Table Charges Devices without Sunlight

Solar-Powered Current Table Charges Devices without Sunlight
Apr-12-14
The solar-powered Current Table charges devices using photosynthesis, and can even harvest the diffused light of indoor lighting.

Designed by Marjan van Aubel, the Current Table features a clear, orange glass panel that doubles as the table's work surface. The inside of the glass panel is equipped with a dye-synthesized solar cell created by integrating titanium dioxide particles onto a piece of glass and then dying the glass orange. The orange color helps the glass to absorb more light, including the light from indoor lighting, and the generated energy is stored in an onboard battery. The Current Table also features four USB ports, which are able to fully charge a device's battery in about an hour.
