Solar-Powered WaterStillar Water Purification System

Solar-Powered WaterStillar Water Purification System
Oct-06-15
The modular, solar-powered WaterStillar Works system can provide clean drinking water from almost any source, and requires very little training or maintenance.

The WaterStillar unit is divided into vertical sections, and requires no electricity or chemicals. Water in the bottom section is heated by solar energy, which causes it to evaporate and leave the contaminants behind. The evaporated water vapor then rises to meet the uppermost distillation panel, where it condenses and runs down a panel to a reservoir for storage and consumption.

Each upper level is heated by the residual heat of the layer below, and the standard system can produce between 200 and 300 liters of drinking water a day. However, the Waterstillar Works system can be easily scaled up, to produce a much a 10,000 liters.
