Tobacco farmers may find a new reason to grow their crops as researchers find a way to force tobacco plants to grow synthetic photovoltaic cells that can be extracted and sprayed onto glass or plastic to create solar panels.

Plants are very efficient gatherers of sunlight, and researchers have developed a "virus" that causes the plant to manufacture artificial chromosphores that turn sunlight into high-powered electrons.

that is fantastic! a mega income industry like power production is exactly what is needed to ease tobacco growers away from producing the filth for it's original purpose! smoking ban, here we come!!
