Sony Display Device Makes Any Glasses Smart

Sony Display Device Makes Any Glasses Smart
Dec-18-14
Sony's new microdisplay allows a regular pair of glasses to function much like Google Glass—and can be attached or removed as needed.

The device attaches easily to a standard pair of glasses, where it extends in front of the wearer's eye to display visual information. It is equipped with a High-Resolution Color OLED microdisplay along with a Micro-optical unit that boosts the display quality, and a miniaturized control board made with high-density packaging technology gives it arithmetic processing capabilities equal to a smartphone.

The screen of the Sony device is a bit smalerl than that of Google Glass, which could appeal to users who would like to keep a wider eye on the real world. Programmers will also be able to write apps for the device, which will allow it to function on its own or via a wireless smartphone connection.
