Specdrums Rings Turn Color to Music

Specdrums Rings Turn Color to Music
Aug-18-17
The Specdrums rings turn color into sound, putting the power of music at your fingertips.

The Specdrums rings communicate with a smartphone via Bluetooth to pair chosen colors with selected sounds, turning each color into a new musical element. The sounds can be selected from the app’s library, and the system can support several rings at once, enabling the wearer to make chords and more complex arrangements.

The Specdrums rings were first conceived as Freedrums, with the idea of creating a portable drumming machine. However, the idea expanded to include the rings’ ability to recognize color, which allows them much more creative freedom.
