Hailed as the world’s quietest trainer, the STAC Zero bike trainer invention does not contact the rear tire with the roller, which also reduces wear.
To create its contactless-resistance, the STAC Zero trainer uses magnets to create eddy currents, which are produced by the motion between a conductor and a magnet. The magnets are placed in calipers positioned on either side of the aluminum wheel rim (the conductor), which causes the eddy currents to increase resistance the faster the wheel spins.
