Stethoscope Detects Knee Damage

Stethoscope Detects Knee Damage
May-29-16
A new stethoscope for knees could make it much easier for physicians to diagnose knee injuries, before the damage can worsen.

Created by a team from Georgia Tech and funded by DARPA, the knee band “stethoscope” is equipped with microphones and a vibration-sensing film able to listen to and measure the sounds inside the knee joint. By comparing the sounds to those generated by healthy knees, physicians will be better able to diagnose knee injuries early, allowing for quicker treatment.
