Using a rubber called a dielectric elastomer, researchers have developed a stretchable keyboard that could help usher in wearable tech.
Still in the prototype phase, the keyboard is made up of a sheet holding two sensing layers that creates a surface with nine sensing areas able to function as programmable keys. Since the thin material is flexible enough to be wrapped around an object, it could also have applications as skin sensors and gesture controllers.
