The Sun Tracker uses a set of mirrors to track the sun and redirect its light, reducing the need for artificial light and heat more significantly than traditional skylights. Each unit replaces 800 watts of fluorescent lighting, and can virtually eliminate the need for artificial lighting during daytime hours.

There are also health benefits to the use of natural light for interior lighting. Many Americans spend up to 95% of their time indoors, and greater exposure to natural daylight increases alertness and keeps the circadian rhythms on track.
