SunSprite Encourages Enough Sun Exposure

SunSprite Encourages Enough Sun Exposure
Mar-09-14
Recently funded on Indiegogo, the SunSprite clips onto the user’s clothing to track sun exposure and help encourage the user to get enough sun.

The key-sized SunSprite is solar-powered, needing no batteries or charging, and attaches to the clothing with a flexible magnetic clasp. Its sensors will track both hidden visible light and UV light, with the LED lights on the device displaying how close the user is to the recommended daily quota of light exposure. The SunSprite can also pair with a smartphone app for a more detailed analysis of the daily dose of sun.

Adequate light exposure has been linked to both physical and mental well-being, and can also have a healing effect on a range of medical conditions including ADHD, Parkinson’s disease and dementia.
