Survival Gear uses Air Pockets to Trap Heat

Survival Gear uses Air Pockets to Trap Heat

(3)Feb-11-12
A new three dimensional material from Blizzard Survival uses an air-trapping, honeycomb-like structure to trap heat better than the conventional survival blanket.

The structure, known as Reflexcell, consists of a three dimensional, three layer design. The air pockets built into the design trap warm air and provide an effective layer of insulation that is up to twice as effective as single layer materials. The Reflexcell blankets and jackets are stretchable, so they can conform to fit snugly, and are also wind and water proof.
