Oct-29-14 The credit-card sized Talkase phone sits inside an iPhone case to function as a sort of life raft for your smartphone.

The Talkase 2G, GSM mobile phone can be used as a standalone, backup phone with its own number or can connect with the full-sized smartphone via Bluetooth—which could be handy with today's increasingly large phones. The Talkase can also remain on standby for up to 100 hours, which makes it useful as an emergency phone when the primary phone runs out of battery life.

According to the developers, the phone could be particularly useful to travelers, eliminating the need to carry two smartphones, or as an alternative to using the more expensive smartphone when outdoors or in hazardous situations, such as a crowded concert or other public event.
