Tech Tat Tattoo Tracks Health and Authorizes Payments

Feb-02-16 The Tech Tat tattoo from Chaotic Moon can not track only the wearer’s vitals, but could also be tapped to authorize payments.

The electronic tattoo is made up of a combination of electronic paint and sensors able to monitor the wearer’s vital signs, such as heartbeat and temperature, and transmit that information from a microcontroller to a paired smartphone via Bluetooth Low Energy. Besides its use in fitness tracking and hospital settings, the Tech Tat could also be used to identify the wearer’s individual gestures and biological signatures in order to authorize payments on a “tap to pay” style device. The device could also in a pack of “Band-Aid style” adhesives, letting tentative users approach the concept more easily.
