More than a bike lock, the smartphone-controlled Ulock will unlock when you come near or remind you where you left it.
The Ulock communicates with a PIN-code protected app via Bluetooth 4.0 LE, which will allow it to automatically unlock if the assigned phone comes within 9.8 feet, or lock if the user moves away. The lock can also be controlled via an onscreen button, by knocking on the phone or by shaking the lock itself (if the phone is within range). Users can also give their friends access to the bike, if they have the proper PIN code, and the app will show users where the lock is—in case they forgot where it was parked while doing errands on foot.
