The Urban Bio-Loop Project aims to turn food waste into building materials.

According to the paper’s authors, the Arup group, many organic materials could be used to create affordable and eco-friendly construction materials. Among the options, the team lists using rice in cement, banana leaves in textiles, and potato peels as fire-resistant insulation materials.
