Vacuuming Debris from Waterways

Vacuuming Debris from Waterways
Apr-14-14
Vacuum designer James Dyson hopes has revealed a plan to clean up polluted rivers by equipping a barge with the same cyclone technology used in the company's vacuum cleaners.

The envisioned barge, called the M.V. Recyclone, would be equipped with nets that would unfurl from the stern and skim debris from the water's surface. The captured debris would then be brought onboard the ship, where the plastic waste would be shredded and sorted by grade using a huge cyclone similar to the way Dyson's cyclonic vacuums work.
