The Vessyl joins the ranks of health and food monitors by automatically tracking not just how often you drink, but also what you drink.
The Vessyl is equipped with an LED display that will activate when the cup is tilted for a drink. Sensors in the cup will identify the type of drink, as well as its amount of calories, proteins, fat, sugar and caffeine, and then display that data in an easy-to-read format on the LED display. When paired with the companion app, the Vessyl will transfer the data via Bluetooth to a smartphone, allowing you to keep track of your fluid intake over time. The app can also be personalized to display certain details, such as how much caffeine you have had today.
According to the developers, the Vessyl's molecular scanner is able to distinguish between drinks as similar as Coke and Pepsi.
