Visual Cues Train Radiologists(2)Jan-30-12 Incorporating gaze direction cues into mammogram images could help train student radiologists to better seek for and location tumors. The study, conducted by researchers at Washington University, was built upon our visual response to brightness, color, and contrast changes. A expert radiologist's scanpath was integrated with the visual cues to guide the students along the same path. By using eye tracking to follow the gaze of the students, the study revealed the visual cue group to be more accurate than the control group in locating tumors, and the results lasted longer. |
