Wearble BlueControl Treats Psoriasis with Light
Oct-05-14
The BlueControl from Philips is the first wearable device shown to reduce the symptoms of psoriasis through light instead of medication.

The battery-powered device is simple to use, with only a single on/off button. It is equipped with an array of 40 high-intensity LEDs that shine UV-free, blue light onto the skin—a therapy that has been proven to reduce the rate at which the cells divide. Designed with the patient's comfort in mind, the BlueControl fits both the arms and legs and can be worn at any time, making it easier to incorporate into a daily routine.

Clinical trials have shown that the BlueComfort can reduce the symptoms of psoriasis, including redness and scaling, by up to 50 percent.
