Weaving Electronics into Clothing

Weaving Electronics into Clothing
Dec-05-18
Integrating graphene into textiles could open the door to wearable electronics in everyday clothing.

The process involves using common polypropylene fibers to incorporate the graphene-based electronic fibers into clothing, creating a wearable touch-sensitive or light-emitting display that does not require extra wires or electrodes. According to the co-author of the study professor Saverio Russo, “The incorporation of electronic devices on fabrics is something that scientists have tried to produce for a number of years, and is a truly game-changing advancement for modern technology.”
