XPAND Glasses Treat Lazy Eye Discretely

XPAND Glasses Treat Lazy Eye Discretely
Nov-19-15
The Amblyz glasses from XPAND offer kinds a more comfortable—and less obvious—way to treat lazy eye.

Lazy eye, also known as amblyopia, is usually treated with eye drops or by wearing a patch, both of which young children often resist. As an alternative, the Amblyz glasses from XPAND (makers of 3D movie glasses) provide visual occlusion by darkening the lens over the chosen eye on a programmed schedule.

In contrast to a patch which is worn for two hours a day and blocks the child’s good eye continuously, the Amblyz glasses are equipped with LCD lenses that will turn opaque over the good eye every thirty seconds. Although worn for four hours a day instead of two, the glasses are much less distracting to the child and offered the same amount of improvement as the patch.
