Carnegie Mellon’s Open Field Entrepreneurs Fund’s (OFEF) Selects Five Startups for Investment

OFEF offers support to startups by Carnegie Mellon University alumni graduating out of CMU within the last five years.

Over the last fifteen years CMU has helped set up of over 300 companies with 9000 jobs. Years of cutting edge research is applied to develop real world solutions to everyday problems.

Awardees get $ 50,000 each in matching investment and access to other funding resources, personalized mentoring and attend an annual OFEF business workshop.

OFEF’s third cycle awardees range from power, medicine to IT sectors.

Lumator – Optimizing purchase and usage of residential electricity.

NetBeez - A new network monitoring tool to test and validate enterprise networks on an end user perspective.

QuantMD LLC - Helping medical diagnosis and surgical planning with algorithmic analysis of medical data.

Tools Cloud - Flexible Open source development environment in the Cloud for IT development groups.

Vibrado - Wearable sensor platform for maximizing athletic and sports training.
