We achieve this by embedding specialist Intermediaries within client organisations, under a strict regime of confidentiality, and on a commercially neutral basis. Embedding Intermediaries within organisations allows them to absorb and understand the organisations needs and then reach out and connect with the myriad of external resources and networks available IXC. We are then able to seek out and develop appropriate, sometimes obtuse, opportunities for collaboration that our clients cannot achieve by other means.

An important feature of our service is that, where necessary, connections can be developed and assessed without disclosing the identity of our clients, or requiring them to enter into specific non-disclosure arrangements which might compromise other initiatives. By using the Intermediary to bridge these know-how issues we enable our clients to gain access to networks that might otherwise be difficult such that collaboration and partnering timescales are substantially reduced, speeding entry of new technology to market.

The intermediaries are typically science graduates with a PhD and several years of commercial experience. They are effective because they are embedded with their effort, focus and skill dedicated to the innovation needs of the client, undiluted by the demands of the "day" job. In addition to working on connections the intermediary can also access the large knowledge base network that IXC have developed by interacting with publicly available databases and subscribing to private research organisations. IXC takes the technology search work burden off the workload of their clients.
