INNOVATION RESOURCES

Open-IP

Open-IP could be dubbed as the intellectual property broker for the masses. Open-IP is an open portal of portals using the hub and spoke model where each intellectual property is listed via related portals. Open-IP hopes to be the gateway for various for-profit organizations.

Open-IP

In the age of the knowledge economy, many are clamoring to organize the mass of intellectual property assets that we currently have. As information and knowledge demand a higher price tag now more than ever, intellectual property assets have become the most valuable component to a company's worth, even more than physical assets.

The Open-IP approach hopes to foster innovations by providing efficient ways for inventors and intellectual property owners to put their technology in the open market, making it more efficient for buyers and sellers to close IP transaction. Various intellectual property brokers, both profit and non-profit, have used the open market approach to increase the worth of their service.

Due to the profit potential of intellectual properties, these assets have become confidential in nature, especially in industries where competition is very sensitive.

However, more and more people are embracing the open policy of information sharing and as intellectual property assets become more valuable to companies, it is the hope of Open-IP that companies will realize that the only way to foster innovation in this age is through constant collaboration.
