Abuse of human growth hormone

In the USA, doctors have been known to prescribe human growth hormone to children in shortest 3% of the population, despite their not suffering from a deficiency in growth hormone, and despite lack of evidence that such hormones actually produce more growth in the long term. Both the biotechnology companies that produce the hormones and parents who fear social discrimination against their short children request doctors to use the drugs
