Bed Bugs are close to epidemic proprotions in major US cities |

Bed bugs were eradicated in the US by the 1930's but without the use of DDT they are now resistant to all pesticides. The movement of people into the US has brought the problem of infestation to epidemic levels in New York and other cities and within 10 years the country will be at epidemic levels. We have solved the first problem using a freezing technique using liquid CO2 and a special wand that produces "dry snow" at -78C. This technique provides no residual effect and the next person or luggage carrying the bed bugs re-infests the hotel room or apartment. We are working on the use of Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth but it is so light that it floats for long periods of time in the air while applying it around the room. We are going to try mixing it in water and applying but it does not go into solution without a surfactant.
