Under-appreciation of contrubutions of artists |

The arts build bridges and human understanding. They provide solace; get people in touch with what it means to be human. Yet, unless an artist is in the media spotlight, they are generally thought odd or quirky, dismissed as “the eccentric artist”. What can be done to shine a light on the immense unsung talents of painters, sculptors, poets, musicians, creative writers and others? Their offerings to humanity could mean the difference between joy and despair to those who are disenfranchised, mentally ill, depressed or hopeless—for those who cannot be reached by words or logic alone.
