Reclaiming Coastal Deserts |
 |
|
The effect of global warming increases desert area and raises sea levels. Proposed is a widespread long term action of introducing vegetation from the coast, in-land.
Desalinization can be used to supply fresh water to firstly establish hydroponic seedling houses and then irrigation of seedlings that have been planted out.
With more plant life on the coast, will that eventually cause more rainfall?
Is there any way to provide cheap desalinisation?
Are any stable food plants hardy enough to grow in such places, so that they can be used to feed the hungry?
How can this be made cost effective?
