People spend hours daily watching TV, so they don't have time to actually LIVE

Post a Problem
Many people watch too much TV. If they didn't, they could be "part of the solution" in their town or region. They could interact on a human level with others, or enjoy active recreation, which would improve mental and physical health.

People get hooked into TV because it is effortless. They get deluded into thinking that anything that requires effort is painful. While watching TV they are passive, and if they watch for many hours a day, they become passive even when they are away from TV. They don't take charge or think for themselves, they just watch life go by and comment from the outside, like all of life is a TV program. They don't realize that unlike TV, if they don't like something they can get involved and help make changes for the better. Heavy TV watching tends to make people feel like non-people. They admire actors on the screen; heros, lovers, crime fighters, crusaders for the cause, but they don't realize they could be the hero, the lover, or the crusader, in real life.
