I am trying to shift a long standing paradigm my school, in the hopes that children will experience the joys of being in their right brains more often and for longer periods of time. The old paradigm was to come to art class and socialize constantly, with minimal attention and energy spent on the art production. ("Art class is talk-time.") The new paradigm is about being quieter and more focused and more deeply engaged in the art making process and skill building, bringing intuition and the right brain holistic experience into the classroom. I need some activities that can demonstrate the shift from the left to the right brain, some things to DO that will give them the experience of being in their right brains, not in their verbal lefts. I know the Face-Vase exercise is good, and drawing with the left (or "other") hand helps, and I have a silent observation exercise that works well, but I need MORE!!! LOTS MORE!!! I want to give them a physical and mental experience of right brain activity that is unmistakable. Anyone have a good idea or sixteen??? I will be grateful for any suggestions. THANK YOU. Donna
