Lack of Diversity in Exposure |

Music can carry a world of culture, of beliefs, of magic, of ritual, of emotion -- all within the space of a smattering of notes. Given its appeal to the emotions, it may be a useful tool in spreading awareness of faraway lands -- and even in fostering understanding of adversaries. How can society best capitalize upon music's potential for sociopolitical dialogue and healing? How can we ensure exposure to a diversity of musical genres -- from a diversity of sociopolitical and sociocultural outlets?
Music holds tremendous potential for connecting humanity, yet we have only begun to explore the best way to exploit that potential for the common good.
