A quick Google of "international marriage broker" reveals a whopping 247,000 hits. "Mail-order bride" similarly yields over 6 million sites. Some discuss laws designed to protect against marriage fraud, human trafficking, and abuse, yet a not insignificant number specialize in providing foreign women -- from Russia or the Ukraine, for example -- as brides for Western men. Concerns arise as to the vulnerability of these women to trafficking and abuse, at the hands of both the brokers and the men that bring their brides here as "prizes."
