The rivers flowing in pune district are getting polluted due to activities related to humans,industries.The BOD,DO,MICROBIAL COUNT etc are so high that it is undrinkable despite treatment at various STPs in pune,pimpri-chinchwad and cantonment areas.This might be also due to improper use or also due to improper operation and maintenance of existing STPs or inadequate treatment of sewage which will also turn to contaminate other rivers downwards or water quality in ujani dam and other waterbodies,wells,groundwater contamination.So how can we find a solution to above problem which will be beneficial to all.THANKS.

add microbes to the water

why couldnt you add microbes/bacteria that are suppose to use for the oils spills, in an area where the water would be still or make an area for the to regenerate before it moves down river?...

sun clean water

People should be educated through posters posted extensively in the area especially in and around schools. Posters should illustrate a sick child with think bubble above showing him drinking poluted ...
