Contraception is the cheapest way to reduce carbon emissions

A report titled "Fewer Emitters, Lower Emissions, Less Cost" claims that if contraception was made available to those who wish to use it, the reduction in births could result in saving 34 gigatonnes of carbon emissions.

The cost of supplying contraception would cost about $7 for each tonne of carbon emissions avoided, compared to wind power, the next most efficient low-carbon technology, which would cost $24 per tonne to prevent the same amount of carbon emissions from being produced.
