Markets. Fields. Many victims were raped there, between the crops, on the roads, between the market stalls. For socioeconomic redevelopment to take place, victims must be able to reconceptualize these zones, now tarnished by memories of trauma, as safe, respectable, normal communal grounds. The celebration of positive communal events in such arenas would be a wise move -- once security and stability have been enforced.
