Let's suppose we have a small community and a part of them are old, single people which cannot take care of themselves properly or at all and the relatives cannot help them 24/7. Sounds like a hard scenario,isn't it?
My suggestion is that all the old persons in need for long term care and assistance should be grouped together by common interest and level of help and care they can give to the other.
For example, if there are 10 such persons on a street,living each one in their own house, they should not occupy 10 houses but only 3,let's say. They should be like roommates. If one cannot go for shopping, the other one can.If one cannot bend, the other one will help him/her with the slippers.They will live together following the "level of helping compatibility".
Details are required to set up more efficiently,of course; like they can rent the "free" houses so they have a second income from which they can increase their life level and assistance.
When i will be old and blind, I would like to carry on my shoulders a lame friend to pick me the most red apple from the tree i would not be able to see anymore...:)
