People kill themselves for three main reasons- losing their house, losing their job, or breaking up with a significant other. A more equal distribution of wealth definitely addresses the first 2 reasons. Recently, people experiencing foreclosure and losing their homes and jobs due to the economy has caused a rise in suicide. If the system was set up so people made more money and had a higher quality of life, it would reduce some of these suicide attempts.
